While it is his third album, the new release will serve as a solid introduction to the artist who sees himself as a poet and songwriter above all else.

-American Songwriter

I’ve heard many musicians, from Todd Snider to Warren Haynes to Kris Kristofferson, advise aspiring songwriters to write about what they know. I have no idea if Texan Dustin Brown heard someone tell him that firsthand, but somewhere along the way he picked up the skill. He grew up the kid where both parents had to work, and his own non-musical career was decidedly blue-collar with gigs as a commercial diver and oil field hand. Even his musical journey started by playing biker bars as an underage band leader. So it should come as no surprise that his self-titled, but 3rd full length, album has a decidedly working man’s sound.

Dustin Brown is an artist whose music echoes the deep layers of lived experience, wrapped in an authenticity that few can rival. His forthcoming self-titled album, out March 28th, marks an intriguing chapter in his story. With songs that speak to universal themes of struggle, growth, and reflection, Brown offers a window into his soul, inviting listeners to engage with his personal journey — one that feels seasoned far beyond his years.

-Fort Worth Magazine

Soft, melancholy, but gritty, Brown laments about what could be a host of things, or all the things.

-Galleywinter

Yes, his songs are still pretty sad, and they do still feel pretty personal. In the passage of time, however, he’s honed his songwriting chops with the weight of minor, often-times scathing details.

-Fort Worth Weekly

A working musician by every definition, Dustin Brown shifts between a solo act and a full band depending on the venue. This central Texas songwriter brings truth and grit to his lyrics, mixed with old values and new age thoughts. His music has helped him travel all across the United States and the world. Earlier this year, We got a chance to sit down and chat with Dustin, during the filming of our Jam Session Series. He played several songs from his upcoming album that would be released a few months later. During our conversation, we learned that Dusting split his time working on his music while working in the oil fields of west Texas, but shortly after the release of his album he decided to go back to music full time.
With Dustin going back to music full time, it's only a matter of time before big things happen.
